Why I do this
My wife is a pediatrician. I walked through med school, residency, and the search for the right job after residency right alongside her — the six-figure loan balances, the years of a salary that didn't match the eventual earning potential, the total lack of time to think about anything beyond the next rotation or shift.
That experience is the reason I focus part of my practice on physicians and residents specifically — I've seen firsthand how underinsured people in that stage of their career tend to be, not because they don't care, but because there's never a natural moment to stop and deal with it.
Before insurance, I spent years as an operations and expansion manager in the commercial cannabis industry, and before that, managing restaurants. Insurance found me, not the other way around — it gave me a path to work from home and be the one raising my daughter, rather than handing that job to someone else while I worked. That same reason is why I take this work seriously: it's not just a sales job to me, it's what let me build the life I actually wanted.
